This experience will reveal some of the hidden gems of this peninsula, and we aim to empower small communities to grow and connect with the tourism industry. Your day will begin with a meeting with our local staff from the Carenero community, who will provide you with instructions for the day, including safety and logistical information.

We will then paddle across the bay to Cayo Carenero, a small island featuring a private beach. From here, you can enjoy views of Carenero port and town. The island also has a small trail that we can explore together for a better perspective of the town and the surrounding bay.

Additionally, this area is home to coral reefs and starfish that you can admire while snorkeling. You will also have time to swim before we head back to the shore.

About Samana Province 

The Samaná Peninsula is as coveted today as it was in the 16th century. Pirates hid in its lush, palm-filled forests, isolated beaches, and hidden caves, while European and Haitian troops competed over its deep water, protected bay.

Samana: Kayaking in Carenero Bay and Snorkeling

**Start Time: 8:00 AM** 

Prepare for an exciting early morning adventure as we make our way to our designated meeting point in the Carenero area. Depending on where you are located in Samaná, the journey may take roughly an hour. To ensure a smooth start, please plan accordingly to arrive on time.

Upon your arrival at the meeting point, you will be welcomed by our knowledgeable local expert, who will provide a warm introduction and outline the day’s itinerary. While you settle in, enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee or a refreshing natural juice to energize you for the day ahead. Additionally, restrooms will be available for your convenience before we embark on our kayaking excursion.

Our adventure begins as we travel to Carenero Island, where we will collect our kayaks. Once equipped, we’ll start paddling through the beautiful waters of Carenero Bay. As you paddle, keep your eyes peeled for vibrant coral reefs and an array of marine life that inhabits this stunning area, providing ample opportunity for photography and appreciation of nature’s beauty.

Midway through our journey, we’ll take a break to explore Cayo Carenero. This is the perfect opportunity to stretch your legs, take a refreshing swim in the clear waters, and soak up the sun on the sandy shores. Feel free to wander the island and capture some memorable photographs of this tropical paradise.

Here you will be able to go snorkeling and spend time searching in the crystal clear waters of this bay, ones you are done with the kayaking we will paddle kayaking on the shore of Carenero beach, you jump in the water if you wish and then continue your trip in this bay. 

You will head back to the starting point and continue to your final destination in Samana.
